as technology keeps us working longer hours
both in the office and at home

your workspace and work equipment need to match your workstyle

wirkspace ergonomics
was created to address that need

Erin C. Fleig OT/CHT/CEAS
wirkspace ergonomics was created in 2015 as a response to almost 20 years of treating computer related injuries in the Financial District of Lower Manhattan as an occupational therapist/certified hand therapist.

"The extent of acute and chronic pain I was seeing in the clinic was directly related to poor functional positioning and body mechanics.  Most pain can be resolved with a thorough ergonomic and functional assessment to identify patterns of provocation.”

By making adjustments not just to work equipment but also to work style, Erin has instructed hundreds of patients in correct ergonomics to resolve their pain and prevent further reinjury specific to how they work.

“The challenge to a successful assessment is truly observing a client in all phases of work.  We don’t typically have one-task jobs that demand one position. Work is dynamic and each phase has potential positioning and mechanical problems.  The success of an assessment is when a client can recognize these inefficient patterns and correct them hopefully for the long term.  It’s not just about recommending equipment.”

As a Certified Hand Therapist/Upper Extremity Specialist, Erin brings a strong orthopaedic backround to an assessment and her training as an occupational therapist is evident when dysfunctional movement observed requires adapting, modifying or retraining to be accessed.

Erin divides her time between Brooklyn, NY and Great Barrington, MA where she is the owner of Barrington Hand and Upper Extremity Rehabilitation.
